My First Pair of Trousers

I made my first pair of trousers!  I've been sewing for over 20 years and avoided trousers because of the perceived complexity.  Basically, I had fear of failure.

I used the Juniper pattern by  Colette.  The pattern was easy to follow and the fit was perfect.  I learned how to sew a fly font and slash pockets.  It wasn't as hard as I feared.

My husband calls this the Von Trap pants because I made these from curtains found at a garage sale.  Whatever.  I love the loud print.  It's totally my style.

I have been losing weight this past year and I have been making my newly downsized pants from high quality knit pants in a larger size at the thrift store. These thrift pants have such high quality fabric, not found for sale in the US anymore, that after years of wear it has not pilled or lost it's color. I love it. As always, your sewing inspires me. I've been sewing for fifty some years!!!:)
